The combination of cheddar with butter is divine. Add a little kick of black pepper and make it yum!

Cheddar and Pepper Cookies

Ingredients

Butter at room temperature 1/2 cup
Grated cheddar cheese 1/2 cup
Powdered pepper 1 tsp
Whole cumin 1 tsp
Salt 1.5 tsp
Wheat flour 1.5 cups
Baking powder 1 tsp
Sesame seeds 2-3 tbsp
Milk 1/4 cup
Water as needed 2-3 tbsp

Method:
In a bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper together, mix in the cumin and sesame and set aside
In another bowl, beat together the butter and grated cheese, till well blended and creamy. Add the flour in 3-4 parts and mix, add the milk little by little and knead to stiff dough, do not over mix. Add the water only if needed.
Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180 Degrees Celsius. Line two large baking pans with paper and set aside.
Divide the dough into 3 parts, dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the dough into 1/2 cm thickness. Cut into squares about 1.5 inch or use a round cookie cutter or the back of a bottle lid to cut out the cookies.
Line them onto the baking pan. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until they are turning light golden on the edges. Cool completely before storing.
