RaAGa (Ramam Art Ghar), a community of amateur artists, launched an art exhibition titled, ‘Rhythm of Colors’ on Thursday at Rainbow Art Gallery, Paryatak Bhavan, Begumpet. Over 50 works of about 24 artists are on display during this five-day long exhibition, till April 18.
Raaga community is founded by Rajeswari Vadapalli, a Japanese language professional turned artist. Its main aim is to create a platform for amateur artists across different domains of art to help them showcase their achievements.
Justice Subhashan Reddy, Lok Ayukta for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh who inaugurated the event shared his experience, “I am happy to be here. I think a painting is worth a thousand words. Everyone should know the importance of this culture. And the culture can be easily depicted through art.”
Senior artist Thota Vaikuntam and sculptor and painter M V Ramana Reddy were also there to encourage the artists, who were from different professions and belonged to different age groups.
“Every artist has to go out and feel the nature for becoming a good painter. Artist must feel the ambience of a certain place, and then the real feel will be captured in the painting. Curiosity plays a key role for an artist. Finding happiness in work is important,” advised Vaikuntam. M V Ramana Reddy spoke of the importance of sharing art, “In Europe every house has original paintings instead of photos.”
The artists drew inspiration primarily from their experiences and nature. One of them, Sukalyan Dutta, said, “I am happy to be the part of this show and I think this is a great platform for upcoming artists. My painting titled ‘Peripheral Enhancement’ explains about the changes that happened in Hyderabad in recent times.”
