Live workshop at Aayush Hospitals
Aayush hospitals in the city had performed a complex coronary angioplasties using advanced technology at their hospitals in the city on Monday. A live demonstration workshop was conducted for the surgeons, on the occasion.

Professor of Interventional Cardiology Prof Robert has successfully completed complex coronary angioplasties with implantation of scaffolds with the help of other cardiologists. The workshop has been attended by about 50 cardiologists practicing in Vijayawada, Guntur and Eluru.
During the surgery, OCT Technology, which is for scanning of heart blood vessels is explained and followed. “Scaffold implantation requires accurate assessment of blood vessel size for a good result. Routine angiogram is not sufficient for accurate sizing of the scaffold and it can be achieved by OCT (Intra Vascular Ultrasound) and by IVUS,” said Dr Robert.
He appreciated the management for incorporating the itegrated FFR and IVUS facility in advanced cardiac cath lab. Dr K Gopala Krishna, Dr PSS Chowdary, Dr K Purnachandra Rao, and other doctors from the department of Cardiology were present.
