An extensively designed ‘Anti-Buffet’, curated by Mamagoto Chef Zia-Ur-Rahman, awaits the taste buds of foodies. Head to Banjara Hills Road No. 12 and a big yellow door, the signature style of Mamagoto, welcomes you into a cheery ambience with modern art. One might wonder what an “anti-buffet” is.

The Asian cuisine restaurant, Mamagoto launched an ‘Anti-buffet’ for lunch

Throwing light on the lunch food promotion, restaurant manager, Milan Dutta says, “In traditional buffets, the food is exhibited on the counters and one has to take food from those dishes only. However, we at Mamagoto have live counters and a customer can choose anything from the buffet and it will be freshly made and served to the consumers. There are only a few dishes which are served in the traditional way.”

The gastronomy affair starts with delectable soups. One should try the Tom Yam chicken soup, this spicy soup made with a tomato base will surely tantalise your taste buds. It can be followed by healthy yet yummy salads – the glass noodle salad is very delicious and one can gorge a plateful of it in one go. The chicken salad with Thai herbs is a little on the spicy side and has a hint of sourness in it, making it a luscious choice.

One cannot miss the Teppanyaki in the buffet. The dish is served with chicken or assorted vegetables and it comes with four lip-smacking sauces. The sauces for the chicken variant of Teppanyaki are Ponzu, Hibachi and Sesame and for the veg delight, they are Peanut, Butter Garlic and Hibachi. Just dip the Teppanyaki in these sauces and an explosion of tastes takes place in your mouth.

Next, on our must-try list is the signature dish of Mamagoto – Khow Suey with condiments. The delicious dish comes in three varieties of noodles, burnt garlic, burnt onion, spring onion, chopped fresh red chilli, fried peanuts, coriander, tofu and chicken. The sweet and sour soupy noodles made with coconut milk is rich in taste.

“Khow Suey was introduced by Mamagoto at least nine years ago and the recipe is not been changed till date. It is one of our most sought after dish throughout our chains in India,” Milan informs. For the main course, the buffet offers stuffed potatoes; supreme vegetables;

Thai red curry and purple melon with Tofu in the vegetable platter. The non-veg menu has fried prawns; chicken in red curry; roast in chilli oyster sauce and chicken in chilli garlic sauce along with assorted pepper fried rice, vegetable Hakka noodles and steam rice.

One can round off this tasty ride with sumptuous desserts like coconut roll and honey noodles.
