As the adage goes “Necessity is mother of inventions”, the founders of WeVoo, a live mobile video sharing app, were tired of storage problems on their phones and this germinated in an idea to develop a platform, which can save videos directly on cloud storage and curb the hassle of storage in phones.

Krishna Kumar, Co-founder of WeVoo, recalls, “I got sick of ‘storage full’ messages on my phone and constantly trying to clean up my phone storage by deleting precious moments captured in pictures and videos.”

“I could not find an easy way to record and share large video files with friends and family directly from my phone and also I could not share videos in real time cross platform between android and iPhone. Hence, the idea to make this app triggered,” adds Krishna Kumar who is an international business management professional with a penchant for market development. Kumar is an ex-Indian Railways employee with 15 years of experience.

Through WeVoo live video recording stream can be shared with friends and/or public with video chat in real-time. One can easily share large files from android or iPhone devices. And they also upload the videos to Facebook with news type banners and vanity watermark.

Krishna Kumar says that it took eight months to develop the app. “We were eight people including developers, designers, sales and marketing. Harry Sangha - Chief Troublemaker is the founder. He is an electronics and telecommunication engineer professional. Deepak Khanduri is also a co-founder and he is an architect by profession he has more than 15 years of enterprise sales and marketing experience. And we all came up with this live video sharing app,” Kumar says.

There are many video calling apps in the market and one might one wonder how different is WeVoo. Throwing light on this query Kumar says, “WeVoo is a private video recording app that saves the video directly from mobile to cloud. One stream can have thousands of interactive viewers in total privacy or public. It is multi-lingual, and is available in 35 languages and it is cross-platform sharing of large videos in real time, which other apps do not have.”

Krishna states that they chose cloud storage in order to get away from device dependence (devices break, get storage full, get stolen, change of devices) and to have video content available from anywhere at any time that one can share and replay globally.

“We use world class data centres, secure access controls and industry standard encryption technology that protect user privacy and content (in flight and at rest). We are promoting the app organically via word of mouth and partnerships with business and organisations,” Krishna signs off.
