The first day of ‘Freedom Cup Season II’ began with a spectacular opening ceremony featuring the six teams with 90 players on Saturday.
The first day of ‘Freedom Cup Season II’ began with a spectacular opening ceremony featuring the six teams with 90 players on Saturday. Designed to create health awareness among business people, the tournament is a platform for them to relive their childhood and take a break from mundane desk life.
A total of 17 cricket matches will be played at Saraswati Cricket Grounds, Kompally on every weekend from 6 pm to 9.30 pm and 10 pm to 1 am until May 20. The teams include MX Lions, Team Freedom, Platinum Warriors, Mehta Lights Star XI, Megha Constructions Champs and Shehtab Khan's Shooters.
Speaking on the occasion Purshotam Patel, chief organiser said, “I am happy to see the enthusiasm among the people of Hyderabad regarding cricket. It is like a religion in India and seeing businessmen and young entrepreneurs taking out time from their busy schedule and participating actively in the tournament is great." The player of the tournament will win a trip for two to Malaysia amongst other exciting prizes that wait for winners.
