Hop, skip and board a bus

The next time you want to board a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus, you won’t have to travel all the way to MGBS or JBS; you may as well hop on to a bus from designated points in the city.

In an effort to bring the RTC closer to people, the corporation has decided to change route course of some of the services in the city as well as in important towns and cities in the State. All the buses will have timing boards showing the arrival/departure status of services operating on the route.

The services will also start and depart at important points in district headquarters. The corporation conducted a survey by interviewing 45,316 passengers who touched down at MGBS and JBS bus stands from different districts and Bengaluru. It was found that a majority of passengers find it difficult to reach their final destination and have to depend on autos and other transport.

The survey showed that 40 per cent of the passengers who alighted at MGBS and travelled to Dilsuknagar, LB Nagar, BHEL and beyond took RTC buses and the remaining 60 per cent depended on autos and personal vehicles. The RTC is planning to capture this market.

A senior official said that the RTC wants to reach out to as many people as possible and see that it provided last mile connectivity. Officials say that people no longer need to spend on autos and cabs as the buses would stop at different points and the timings would also be mentioned in the buses.

• Passengers travelling towards Bodhan and Banswada can hop at LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet, MGBS & JBS
• Passengers travelling towards Narayankhed, Godavarikhani, Metpalli, Jagityal can catch a bus at Nagole X Roads, Uppal X Roads, Tarnaka, Sangeeth & JBS.
• Passengers travelling to Adilabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Nizamabad & Bhainsa can take a bus at Malakpet, MGBS & JBS.
• Towards Warangal, passengers can catch a bus at LB Nagar X Roads, Uppal X Roads.
• Passengers who travel to Bengaluru can board the bus at Malakpet & MGBS.
• Travellers to Kamareddy can catch the bus at Lingampally, Miyapur X Roads, Nizampet X Roads, Kukatpally, Balanagar and Bowenpally
• Passengers travelling towards Manthani, Korutla, Metapally can board the bus at Lingampally, Miyapur X Roads, Nizampet X Roads, Balanagar and Bowenpally.
• Passengers travelling to Bengaluru (Electronic City) 8:30 p.m. can board the bus at MiyapurX Roads, Nizampet X Roads, Kukatpally, SR Nagar, Amerpet, Lakdikapil and MGBS.
• Passengers travelling to Adilabad, Nirmal and Mancheriyal can board the bus at Nizampet X Roads, Kukatpally, Balanagar, Bowenbpally and JBS.
• Towards Poiranki, Vijayawada, one can catch the bus at Nizampet X Roads , Kukatpally, ESI, SR Nagar, Amerpet, Lakdikapul and MGBS.
