TS girls win national softball gold
In a historic performance, Telangana Under-11 girls pipped the field to corner glory in the Mini Junior Under-11 and 13 boys and girls National Softball championship 2016 at Nagpur late Wednesday night.
In a historic performance, Telangana Under-11 girls pipped the field to corner glory in the Mini Junior Under-11 and 13 boys and girls National Softball championship 2016 at Nagpur late Wednesday night. It was a showing that will come as a major boost as the new Association tries to establish itself on the national firmament, opined K Shobhan Babu, General Secretary of Telangana Softball Association.
In a nail-biting final, Telangana State girls defeated Andhra Pradesh by the proverbial one run. The score line was 7-6 in favour of the eventual champion, thanks to the gutsy showing by Kousar Banu, the player of the championship in the category.
The prize distribution was by Dr Pravin Anaokar, Secretary-General of Softball Federation of India. Dr Pradeep Telwellar, Joint secretary
Softball Federation of India and Shobhan Babu, graced the occasion. On their return the State players will be felicitated on their return to the city.
