A week into the formation of the Telangana State Chess Association (TSCA), the office-bearers have chalked out ambitious plans in order to revive the good old days and take the State to an envious place on the national canvas.

According to Anamchinni Venkateswarao, General Secretary of the Association, their first meeting that was held a couple of days back helped in evolving a blueprint that will be pursued in all seriousness to achieve its goal of churning out quality national and international players, something that has been elusive for close to a decade.

The meeting chaired by its President, A Narasimha Reddy, and attended by coaches drawn from across the State, resolved to breathe in fresh air.

Among the major decisions arrived at included mandating all State players to register themselves with the Association to be eligible for consideration in future selections and outings, urging all academies and affiliated entities to renew their membership and conducting State-level selection tournaments besides at least Fide-rated championship every month.

Apart from other office-bearers those who provided inputs during the meeting included Vice-Presidents, Major K A Shiva Prasad and B V Rajagopal.
