The five-day Sri Shankara Jayanthi conducted by Sri Sringeri Shankara Math, Nallakunta, was concluded on Wednesday. More than 25,000 devotees thronged the temple for the past five days, and performed various poojas, abishekams, paryanams, parvachanams, and were immersed in the devotional spirit.

Temple authorities made elaborate arrangements for hassle free darshan for the devotees. Dr VR Gowri Shanker, chief executive officer and administrator and K Krishna Rao, temple branch head in a joint statement, said that the branch Math at Nallakunta completed 56 years and it is one of the oldest of the branch of the Sringeri Math in Hyderabad.

The land on which the present Math and temple complex is located was donated by the Late Sri Raja Venkata Rao Limbekar as a token of his love and devotion to the 34th Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Chandrashekhara Bharathi Mahaswamiji.
