Central Command became the overall champion in the Army inter-command athletics championship at Maksh Singh Athletics Stadium here on Sunday. They aggregated 174 points to cement their place at the top.

Two meet records were created in the six-day championship. Central Command Havildar Ranjit Singh set the record in hammer throw with 63.40 metres while Havildar Boota Singh secured 6796 points for the decathlon record. 14 track and 8 field events were conducted in the championship. Later, Brigadier Rohit Butalia, Commandant, Artillery Centre gave away the prizes.
