Sindhuja performs along with her students

Sinjini School of Arts had a performance at Shilparamam on Sunday. Sindhuja, who is the teacher and principal of the dance school, performed along with her seven students.

Invocatory shlokas in praise of Lord Ganapati were followed by "Sri Vighna Rajam Bhaje" in Gambhira Nata, composed by Uttukad Venkata Subbayar eulogizing the Lord of the Ganas. It was competently performed in solo by Sindhuja.

She performed an enchanting Swarapallavi in Hamsadhvani, which is an abstract dance composition along with Sri Druthi; and "Prahlada Pattabhisheka Shabdam " in Kambhoji depicting Narasimhavataram - Hiranyakasipu's penance, obtaining boons from Brahma, harassment of Prahlada and his destruction by the Lord in Man-Lion form along with young dancers Sri Druthi, Hansini and Riti.

The popular “Swagatam Krishna”, and Tarangam “Sharanam Bhava" of Narayana Teertha in Arabhi Raagam describing the prayer of Mother Earth to Lord Vishnu pleading him to save her from atrocities were next.

The latter part of the Tarangam included the dance by balancing on the rim of a brass plate which Sindhuja did in an outstanding manner. The final Tillana was in Dhanasri, a composition by Swati Thirunal that she, along with Sri Druthi and Riti presented. Kalatapasvi Dr K Viswanath graced the occasion and felicitated the artistes.
