Photography has no limits. Irrespective of age and professional backgrounds, anyone can capture the beauty of nature by a click. To encourage the photographic skills of people of Hyderabad, an event ‘Photo Expo and Competition’ was organised by Hyderabad Arts Festival in association with Neosun Photography inaugurated at Prasad IMAX on Saturday.

The theme of the competition was ‘My Hyderabad’. More than 400 entries were received, of which 46 entries were selected for the Expo. The entries were filtered by reputed photographers of Hyderabad that include, Lenny Emmanuel and Arvind Chenji.

The shortlisted photographs will be displayed for public for the next seven days in which the top three will be given cash prizes. The 46 shortlisted entries showcased the art, culture, heritage and lifestyle of Hyderabad.

“Art must be available to everyone free of cost. The expo displays the art and culture of Hyderabad depicted by city photographers beautifully.

Different shades of Hyderabad like Charminar, Bonalu festival, Golconda fort and Metro Rail project exhibited here are great to watch. Some people captured the great images of Hyderabad even using basic mobiles, and that is laudable,” said, Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, IT&C Department, Government of Telangana.

“I named my picture ‘Water Pure Love’. I saw people enjoying the artificial waterfall, and captured the picture of a couple, who were standing behind the waterfall holding hands. This is the first time I am participating in this kind of competition,” shared Oxana Ukhlina.

Komala Devi from Secunderabad too had her picture on display, “One Muslim man asked us about Bonalu festival when we were preparing for it.

Then, I observed him closely, and he was excited, and was very expressive while watching the great festival formalities. At the time, I had a camera and captured his feelings through my lens,” she related.

Nikita Bisht, actress, Femina Miss India and Ramesh Prasad, Chairman of Prasad group were among those who attended and expressed their views on the photo expo.
