The six minute time lapse video titled ‘Hyderabad in a lapse’ shot by Dinesh Goud with an objective to showcase the city in a new way is quickly gaining in popularity.

Dinesh, a student of Bachelor of Business Administration, IBS, says that he wanted to portray important landmarks in the city beyond the reputed Charminar, world famous Hyderabadi biryani and Cyber Towers, which are shown in many videos.

‘Hyderabad in a lapse’ showcases Osmania University, Begum Bazaar, Metro Rail, Outer Ring Road, Star Hotels, International Airport, Street side food stalls, Uppal Stadium, Golnaka Mosque, Qutb Shahi Tombs, Golconda Fort, Mojamjahi Market, Clock Tower in Secunderabad and Buddha statue.

The video captures candid locations and the soul of Hyderabad. “When I decided to go on a trip to Leh and Ladakh, I had seen many time lapse videos on YouTube, which showcased the beauty of Leh and Ladakh.

It had driven me to capture Hyderabad city by using time lapse technology. Time lapse is an interesting technique that records scenes or objects that have a slow state-of-change and turns them into a video that plays back at high speed.

The film frames are captured in much lower speed than the normal video. We can also add pictures to the film by using time lapse,” Dinesh adds.

The film took 12 days for shooting and 3 days for post-production. Dinesh used a Canon 700 D camera to shoot. Background music is an asset to the film, which was rendered by his friend. “This video made me happy.

I felt that I have met the requirements that will not shame amateur filmmakers. I am happy with the views and responses that I got after we uploaded it on YouTube on May 21,” Dinesh concludes.
