Telangana Citizens Council (TCC) on the eve of the National Doctors Day felicitated and presented the Vaidya Rathna award 2016 to the present chairperson of Public Accounts Committee for Telangana Legislative Assembly Dr J Geeta Reddy at a function held in her Marredpally residence.

Telangana Citizens Council (TCC) on the eve of the National Doctors Day felicitated and presented the Vaidya Rathna award 2016 to the present chairperson of Public Accounts Committee for Telangana Legislative Assembly Dr J Geeta Reddy at a function held in her Marredpally residence.

Reddy has been an MLA from Zaheerabad constituency of congress party and a former cabinet minister in the united Andhra Pradesh in the past. The function was attended by Dr Ramachandra Reddy, MD Geetha, president Dr Rajnarayana and secretary Mudiraj Mahesh Agarwal.

Speaking on the occasion Dr KRK Muthy said, “It is a great honour to present the Vaidya Rathana Award to Dr Geetha Reddy, she is in the doctor’s profession for over 30 years and equally active in politics and had extended yeomen service to the people and to the society in the medical and political field.

She got various awards from state and central government and she is a president of the Telangana Women Cricket Association.” She is a role model for the younger generation for inspiration to excel in their respective fields and careers, he added.

Reddy was excited for getting this award on Doctors Day and said, “It is a sweet remembrance in my life. Doctor’s service is a noble profession and the doctors are treated as being next to God and thought as the saviours of the lives of many.”

She further said that, there is a transformation from the medical profession into a commercial one, which is damaging the image and good will of the noble profession. “Due to certain section of doctors and few corporate hospitals a fear of visiting the hospital starts building in the minds of people.
