Pragati Group was felicitated for its notable work  in conservation of indigenous cattle breeds and resorting to organic farming at its eco-village developed on the barren land by creating an abundantly bio-diverse natural habitat at the recently  concluded the \'Glorious Nandi Awards’  function  which was held on the sidelines of  the ‘Bull Show’.

Pragati Group was felicitated for its notable work in conservation of indigenous cattle breeds and resorting to organic farming at its eco-village developed on the barren land by creating an abundantly bio-diverse natural habitat at the recently concluded the 'Glorious Nandi Awards’ function which was held on the sidelines of the ‘Bull Show’. Dr GBK Rao, CMD Pragati Group collected the award on behalf of Pragati Group for the outstanding contribution of Pragati Resorts under the Institutional category.

The award was conferred upon by ‘Ankush’ a non-profit organisation, which is engaged in the genetic improvement of cow and bull breeds in India to match the global standards of milk production. P Pulla Rao, Minister for Agriculture, Govt of AP speaking on the occasion explained the AP Govt’s initiatives for the development of livestock industry and cattle breeding.

He also informed about the recent MOU that was entered into with one US university for livestock breeding technology. G Jagadeeshwar Reddy, Minister for Power, Govt of TS said, “Today we are facing an alarming situation with dwindling cattle stocks in villages and there is an urgent need to focus on their conservation and growth.”

C Partha Sarathi, Principal Secretary, Govt of TS, who chaired the event, stressed the importance of livestock for a growing country like India. Apart from the representatives from Brazil, Bolivia, Columbia and Canada, Dr Manmohan Singh, Special Chief Secretary, Krishna Rao IPS, Addl. DGP, YV Subba Reddy, MP, Ongole, MLA Sridhar, Amala Nagarjuna and OP Chowdary, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt of India, Rammohan, mayor of Hyderabad and B Venugopal, founder Ankush were also present on the occasion.
