Silken wonders beckon

Tollywood actress Yamini Bhasker inaugurated the six-day ‘Silk India Expo – 2016’ at Shilpakala Vedika in Hitech city on Wednesday.

Hastashilpi, the artisans and weavers welfare association organised this exhibition that will be on till July 18. Hand block print sarees, silk bed covers, kurtis, Baluchuri sarees, Bhagalpur suits, embroidered designer silk sarees and dress materials, and a lot more will be showcased in the expo.

“There are various silk sari weavers, handloom clusters and silk co-operative societies showcasing products.

The intension of the organisation is to make accessible and attain the products directly to the customers, without the mediators to the weavers and artisans,’’ said organiser Abhinand.
