Students from Pearl Academy, New Delhi has bagged the first three positions at the India Skills Competition 2016, nation’s largest skill competition. The students won  awards under the \'Fashion Technology\' category.

Hyderabad: Students from Pearl Academy, New Delhi has bagged the first three positions at the India Skills Competition 2016, nation’s largest skill competition. The students won awards under the 'Fashion Technology' category.

Abhishek Dangi, the winner of the competition won Rs 1,00,000 as an award, Vivek Mishra won the second prize of Rs 75,000 and Damanjeet Singh won the third prize of Rs 25,000.

India Skills is an initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. NSDC, through its initiative, has been leading the country's participation at WorldSkills International competitions since 2011.

The three winners from Pearl Academy also got a direct entry into the WorldSkills International competition 2017 to be held in Abu Dhabi. The winners were conferred the award by Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of Skill and Entrepreneurship.

The students were judged on four diverse modules, given to them on the spot which included skills like designing the garment, stitching the apparel, draping the costume etc.
