Percussionist guru Sivamani finds his inspiration and creativity in travelling to different parts of the country. Monsoon is his favorite time of the year. “After an exhausting summer, we eagerly wait for the raindrops and the smell of earth with a cool breeze to rejoice, then why confine ourselves to homes,” opined Sivamani.

The monsoons are finally here and we couldn’t be happier! It is that time of the year when we pack our bags and are on a look-out for magical destinations that are even more beautiful during rains.

Rolling hills, pristine beaches, spectacular waterfalls and beautiful landscapes make many parts of India a traveller’s paradise during the rainy season.

An ace drummer, a passionate traveller and a culture lover, Sivamani shares a few must haves to complete one’s travel itinerary.

Yoga mat: Keeping our mind and body in control is imperative and therefore whenever I get the time, I meditate and practice Yoga. So, a yoga mat is must.

Headphones: Music is what truly defines me. I relish other artiste’s compositions while travelling. I always carry my JBL Everest 300 BT and my JBL Flip 3. The wireless headphones are convenient and the speakers help me enjoy music with my entire family and friends.

Compact umbrella: Since its monsoon travel, this a must have. I love getting drenched in the rain as it gives me immense relaxation, but sometimes when I have work following my travel; an umbrella proves to be a savior.

Portable charger: A phone is an extremely important part of everyone’s routine. I always have a portable charger just in case a socket is not around

His final advice to monsoon travelers? “Plan meticulously and don’t go on a backpack without your essentials and ensure they are water friendly,” says the ace drummer.
