Dr K H K Dora, Chief Medical Director, South Central Railway inaugurated the awareness programme. V Venkatesh, chief entomologist and J Vijay Kumar, Sr entomologist from Urban Malaria Scheme/GHMC also spoke on the occasion.

They explained how one should keep the environment clean as puddles and water stagnation are areas where mosquitoes breed. The Gumbasia fish helps in preventing mosquito breeding said Dr Surekha Gajbhiye, Chief Medical Superintendent/Hyderabad.

Dr Surekha Gajbhiye, Chief Medical Superintendent/Hyderabad gave away the prizes to the winners of essay writing, quiz & drawing competitions organised on the topic ‘Swatch Bharat Mission’ for the students of Vidya Vihar School, Chilkalguda.

Dr AVSK Prasad, Dy Chief Medical Director/T&A/HQ/SC presented a power-point presentation on food, water and environmental hygiene.

Dr N Ramesh, ACHD/Moula Ali, Dr M Suvarna Jyothi, Dy Chief Medical Director/H&FW/HQ/SC also participated in the programme.
