Microsoft as part of its commitment to build long-term and deeper associations between industry and academia hosted ‘Microsoft Day’ at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Gachbowli, Hyderabad and Mohali over the Independence Day long weekend. This was Microsoft’s second visit to the ISB Hyderabad campus and the first at ISB Mohali.

Hyderabad: Microsoft as part of its commitment to build long-term and deeper associations between industry and academia hosted ‘Microsoft Day’ at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Gachbowli, Hyderabad and Mohali over the Independence Day long weekend. This was Microsoft’s second visit to the ISB Hyderabad campus and the first at ISB Mohali.

Members of the Microsoft leadership team along with ISB Alumni interacted with students and shared insights on the various career paths in the organisation. Business management students in both campuses interacted with the ISB alumni, who were deeply engaged in the program and were able to showcase the technology innovation at Microsoft.

The main aim of the programme is to build a deep long-term association between Microsoft and the academia. And the objective is to add a layer of cutting-edge industry know how on top of the existing curriculum being taught in the top schools.

The activities can be divided into two main buckets: - Faculty engagement and student engagement. The main objective of faculty engagement programme is to discuss the key technology topics that the faculty wants industry support on, and decide the format of engagement, basis mutual convenience.

Where Student engagement programme conducted a hackathon Code.fun.do where all the passionate coders of the college got an opportunity to learn how to build modern, real-world applications that leverage the latest Microsoft platforms including Mobile, IOT, Cloud, etc. Hackathons are preceded by fast-paced, hands-on talks and demos that orient students to key concepts needed to build hacks for modern platforms such as smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles and the Cloud.
