Minister for IT and NRI affairs, KT Rama Rao launched 54 Cyient Digital Centres (CDC) during the 25th anniversary celebrations of the company on Monday. The imitative ‘Digital Literacy’ was launched as part of corporate social responsibility of Cyient Ltd. The CDC centres will be setup in government schools in Serilingampally mandal in Ranga Reddy District to mark 25 years of its establishment.

Minister for IT and NRI affairs, KT Rama Rao launched 54 Cyient Digital Centres (CDC) during the 25th anniversary celebrations of the company on Monday. The imitative ‘Digital Literacy’ was launched as part of corporate social responsibility of Cyient Ltd. The CDC centres will be setup in government schools in Serilingampally mandal in Ranga Reddy District to mark 25 years of its establishment.

The aim of these CDCs is to offer high-quality digital educational resources to the underprivileged children and community members of the block. Currently these centres comprise of three functions including, online supplemental learning portal for students and teachers, CDs and DVDs to access offline content and Learning resources for Science, Mathematics, Social Science and English.

These CDC would cover more than 20,000 underprivileged children along with providing guidance to 1,000 community members of surrounding areas of Serilingampally mandal. In future 50,000 plus citizens from the age of 16 to 60 would benefit from this initiative. In addition, CDC will also empower them to be an active part of the country’s development process in the upcoming time.

Speaking on the initiative, Founder and Chairman of Cyient BVR Mohan Reddy said “While the education of underprivileged children has been central to our social endeavour, we also believe that digital literacy is must for any child and these children will have access to high quality digital educational resources and boundless wealth of Knowledge through these digital centers.”

Minister for Finance & Planning and Civil Supplies Etela Rajender, Minister for Transport Patnam Mahender Reddy and others participated in the event.
