Indian Air Force beat Indian Army Red by 84-runs in the final of the Inter-Services cricket championship at Thapar Stadium in the city on Wednesday.

Batting first, Air Force scored 261 runs for the loss of four wickets. Soumik Chatterjee scored 72 runs while Ravi Chauhan contributed 65 runs. Avished Sinha scalped three wickets conceding 53 runs.

In reply, Army Red was restricted to 177 runs. Rahul Singh scored 62 and Amit Pachera 35. Khalid Ahmed took four wickets while Vikas Yadav and R Pal scalped two wickets each.

Later, Lieutenant General Gurmukh Singh, Commandant, MCEME and Arshad Ayub, President of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) gave away the prizes.
