Congratulating the students of Sultan ul Uloom College of Pharmacy (SUCP) at their Graduation Ceremony, Reddy said “Pharmacy is an important area of higher education because it is related to the drugs, and other related issues very badly needed for the people.”
He emphasized that post graduation ‘the students face the challenge of how best they address the healthcare challenge of people in India’. He urged the students to contemplate “how best they can apply knowledge and research for the betterment of the poor people of India, which is equivalent to achieving their goal of betterment of society.”
Delivering his keynote address B Prabha Shankar, Chairman and Managing Director, Leads Pharma Pvt Limited said the challenge for the passing out students is to uphold and fulfill their responsibility of becoming a good human being more than a graduate.
He said “pharmacy industry improves the skills, manpower and quality of life of people associated with the health care system adding that ‘the outgoing pharmacists must improve the quality of life of patients, develop safe drugs, and follow a holistic approach to providing quality pharmaceutical services."
He called upon the students “to learn pharmacy as an art with technology.” “A Pharmacist is an artist and must combine that with technology. A pharmacist must also imbibe universal human values, and develop living skills for a better survival”, he added.
Recollecting from his 35 years of industrial experience, Shanker stressed on the importance of human values, virtues and morals, presentation skills, value-based relationships in achieving success. “Decision making, problem solving, creative thinking, effective communication, interpersonal communication, self-awareness, coping with trauma and loss, etc – a predominant set of living skills pharmacists must imbibe for a better and successful career”, he advised.Speaking on the occasion General Secretary of Sultan ul Uloom Education Society Zafar Javeed said “there is enormous amount of funding in research and development, and to be a part of the sector students must put in great effort to stay abreast of the competition.
He also congratulated the students and welcome the first year Pharmacy and PharmD students joining the college.”
Earlier, Chairman, Governing Council, SUCP) Mir Akbar Ali Khan declared the graduation day open while Mohammed Waliullah, Vice Chairman of Sultan ul Uloom Education Society administered the oath to the students.
Outperforming students were awarded certificates for their achievements. Anupama Koneru, principal SUCP delivered the welcome address and listed out the activities and achievements of the outgoing students of the college.
Shabbir Nakshbandi, Mohammed Jaffar, Zia Nadeem, Mohammed Ibrahim Ali Siddiqui and principals of constituent colleges were also present on this occasion.
