Going with the joyous mood of the Indians, the management, students and staff of All Saints' High School celebrated the Sainthood conferred on to Mother Teresa at a function held at the school premises on Monday.

As part of this, an inaugural assembly was held for the school at the High School Quadrangle. G Gopala Krishna Marar, former Director of All India Radio & Doordarshan, Hyderabad presided over the event, which was followed by the inauguration of the ‘Exhibition on Mother Teresa’, at the venue named as ‘Mother's Hall’.

Speaking about the event, Principal Br PT Sebastian said, “We were indeed honoured to have Gopala Krishna Marar here today, who is one of our illustrious alumnus (1941 to 1953).

He had the rare privilege to interview Mother Teresa in 1980 when she had come down to Warangal as the Chief Guest for the third Annual Convocation of Kakatiya University, wherein she had shared the dais with Late Professor Jai Shanker, the Telangana ideologue.

“We played the soundtrack of the interview today. It was a beautiful thing to hear,” he said.
