Naatyasamgraha organised a dance festival titled ‘Indian Dance Festival Hyderabad 2016’ at Shilparamam. Vishaal Sapuram played sweet melodies from the Carnatic music genre on the Chitra Veena – an instrument which is very close to the ‘Gotu Vadyam’ and played in more or less the same style.

NC Bharadwaj accompanied on the Mridangam and Chandrasekhar Sharma gave good support on the Ghatam. There was also a small ‘jugalbandi’ between the Mridangam and Ghatam, which brought out mathematical variations in rhythms.

A video on Balantrapu Rajanikanta Rao, a well-known Telugu writer, composer and poet was screened on the occasion. The festival concluded with a tribute to dance Guru Late Uma Rama Rao.
