City-based Pragati Green Resorts has bagged Telangana’s Tourism Department’s ‘Best Eco-Friendly Resort’ title for the third time.

Commenting on the honour, Dr GBK Rao, CMD, Pragati Group said, “Exquisitely upholding the theme of biodiversity, natural beauty and conservation of flora and fauna based on Indian Vedic Culture once again went in favour of Pragati to secure this coveted award for the third time.

“Earlier we got the title under this category in 2013 and 2015,” he added. Dr Rao mentioned that Pragati’s efforts were lauded by the government multiple times.

“The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave a clarion call to the people of Telangana in all his public rallies, especially after the launch of his Gramjyoti programme, to study the Pragati model and replicate it in their respective areas.

Since then many teams comprising government civic body, district rural development and gram panchayat officials from Nagole in Hyderabad, Chinnamulkanoor and Yearawalli in Medak, Gangadevipalli of Warangal to name a few visited Pragati for first hand information,” said Dr Rao.

The awards were given away on Tuesday to coincide with the ‘World Tourism Day’.
