​Hyderabad: Department of Information Technology, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) is organising a one week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Internet of Things with Raspberry PI & Network Simulator, from October 17 to 22.

The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest V Malakonda Reddy, President - CBIT & Adviser - MGIT. D Kamalakar Reddy, Secretary - CBES presided over the function and Gokul Kumar J, Head - Training, Pantech solutions, Chennai was key note speaker.

The chief guest spoke about the developments in the field of engineering education over the years. He also spoke about the contribution of various fields of engineering education towards overall prosperity.

In his keynote address, Gokul Kumar, pointed out the importance of "Internet of Things - the present topic for FDP" in various areas and different walks of life.

“It is now playing a vital role in all the fields and all the industrial sectors without which the present scenario wouldn't have been achieved. He also spoke about the future prospects in this area and how the data, information, knowledge are important”.

He advised the participants & students to update the knowledge as per the present developments. Faculty and students from various colleges around the city participated in the event.
