It seems that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has forgotten their promise of filling potholes in roads that sprung abound after the merciless rainfall the city endured last month.

While a few areas were mended during the initials days more have been either neglected or works terminated without completion; GHMC workers poured concrete on roads and forgot about it leaving dry cement dust in air and damaged roads

For a change roads in the New City look as badly worn-out as those in the Old City. Ditches, concrete material strewn across major roads and the GHMC employees not removing waste have combined to present a deplorably pathetic scenario.

The rise in pollution is evidenced from the extent of people using scarves and handkerchieves to cover their faces. Traffic problems have increased manifold and streamlining measures have gone for a toss.

Tragically it is relflected even on flyovers, including the two near the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. Bumpy rides are the norm and back problems are commonplace these days.
