Since its inception, several measures towards people friendly police have been introduced and they yielded better results. Programmes like ‘Sumarg’, Basti-mitra’, senior citizens care desk, adoption of villages and others have improved the image of police among the people, he said.

Sudheer Babu spoke at ‘Atmeeya Sadassu’ at the commissionare headquarters in Hanamkonda on Thursdaycommemorating Police Martyrs Commemoration Week. Public from different walks of life and people benefitted from the new initiatives launched by the commissionerate have attended the meeting.

The sarpanhes of Vangapalli and Pembarthi villages that were adopted by the police have explained the benefits accrued to them with the help of the new initiatives, which they said have bridged the gap between the police and public.

Warangal Urban and Rural district collectors K Amrapali and Prashanth Patil, DCPs MS Venugopal Rao and Md. Ismail, ACPs B Janardhan, SM Surendranath, K Eashwar Rao, S Mahender, Police Officers Association president Ashok Kumar and others were present.

During the evening hours of the day, a candle light rally was taken out in the streets of Hanamkonda.
