Suryapet: Efforts are being made to make Suryapet district No.1 as a part of Mission Bhageeratha scheme says District Collector K Surendra Mohan here on Thursday.

He has inspected the works of overhead tanks of Mission Bhageeratha at Nandapuram village of Tirumalagiri mandal. He has also interacted with the people of the village and enquired about the drinking water supply and other facilities in the village.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of the work, Surendra Mohan said that it was targeted to extend drinking water facility to every household in 14 villages of Tirumalagiri mandal by end of December under first phase of Mission Bhageeratha. As water connections through pipelines to every house was completed in 11 villages, the Collector has directed the officials concerned to speed up the work in remaining three villages and complete them before the targeted time.

He also informed that he would conduct a meeting with the officials every Saturday and review the progress of work. He assured to sort out the issues, if any arise in execution of the work. He has also instructed the officials concerned to plant 40,000 saplings in each village under Haritha Haram scheme.

On his return to Suraypet, the district Collector has also inspected Tasil office of Nagaram mandal.
