Nizamabad: In view of the reorganisation of the district, the Telangana Regional Teachers Association (TRTA) leaders demanded the enhancement of the HRA allowance to 20 per cent.

Speaking to the media, TRTA State general secretary P Venkat Rao said that the enhancement in the HRA allowance was necessary as the teachers would face lot of hardships in the new district.

He said that the government should also scrap the new contributory pension scheme and revive the previous pension scheme.

Venkat Rao also demanded that the teachers should be given an option to choose the district in which they wanted to work on the basis of their nativity.

He said that the CRP accounts should be added to the General Provident Account and the government should solve the problems of the teachers with commitment.
