Nizamabad: District Collector Dr Yogitha Rana urged the district and divisional level officials to take necessary steps and ensure that the social welfare and developmental programmes taken up by the State government were implemented effectively.

Participating in the weekly grievances redressal programme Prajavani in the town on Monday, she said that an official from each department, excepting on Monday and Saturday, should undertake a tour at the field level to get an idea of how the programmes were being implemented. She said that the State government has formulated many welfare programmes for the poor and the downtrodden and they should be implemented with great care.

The District Collector said that the concerned official should inspect the works, take photographs and submit a report on the same. She said that though she directed the officials to chalk out their temporary tour programme from October 21 to November 5 and send the report to the Collectorate, she said that they were touring only for two or three days and this was highly improper.

Collector Rana directed the officials concerned to stay put in the filed level, study the problems, resolve them and submit a report to her that the work was completed duly affixed with an official rubber stamp.

Stringent action would be taken against the officials if they remain indifferent to their duties, she warned. The District Collector said that unless the officials take active interest, it would be difficult to implement the programmes successfully.

She said that officials of all the departments should undertake field-level tours thrice a week. The pending cases under Prajavani should be resolved in another two or three days, she added. Joint Collector A Ravinder Reddy, District Revenue Officer Padmakar and others were present on the occasion.
