Warangal Urban: Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) district committee is organising a mega science event ‘Chekumuki Science Talent Festival-2016’
With objective of promoting quest for science among children and to sharpen their creative scientific skills the event will be held at school, mandal and district-level followed by state-level event, informed the JVV district president D Prabhakara Chary here on Wednesday.
This year it is planned organise school-level Chekumuki Science Talent Festival on November 7 involving about 1.2 lakhs students of all the schools in the district. The mandal-level event will be conducted on November 1. The district-level event will be held on November 27 at NIT Warangal auditorium, he said. Warangal Urban District Collector Amrapali Kata has released publicity poster of event.
On the occasion, the JVV members have requested the Collector to initiate measures in making the Regional Science Centre (RSC) Warangal a hub for popularising science and a centre for science activities.
Technical assistance by JVV scientists and NIT professors will be offered for the purpose, they said. The JVV district president Prabhakara Chary, Chekumuki magazine editor and JVV founder president, Prof A Ramachandraiah of NIT Warangal, state vice-president Prof K Laxma Reddy, district treasurer, P Umameheswara Rao and members V Prabhavathi, Satyanarayana Rao and others were present at poster release.
