Nizamabad: District Collector Dr Yogitha Rana said that digital classes would be organised in every residential hostel of the government school in the district as it would help the students learn better.

Addressing the officials of the education department at the Pragathi Bhavan in the town on Thursday, she said that the State government has decided to conduct digital classes in 1,000 schools across the State and told the mandal educational officers to prepare a list of equipment like projectors, cable wires and ROs that they require to conduct the classes.

The District Collector said that there were several cases of scholarships pending in the government and private colleges and these scholarship arrears have to be cleared soon.

The reason for the delay in clearing the scholarship arrears was that the students did not submit their Aadhaar card numbers, she added.

She said that she received several complaints against the managements of schools and private colleges that they were harassing the students who were not paying the fees by confiscating their certificates and not issuing hall tickets.

She warned that stringent action would be taken against such schools and colleges by cancelling their licenses if they continue to harass the students on this count. This was highly improper, she added.

Collector Rana said that State government has decided to set up libraries in government schools having big buildings and also in the social welfare hostel buildings meant for the scheduled castes.

The educational officers concerned should send proposals regarding the infrastructure facilities and basic amenities required for this, she added.

Collector Rana urged the DEO and the MEOS to ensure that the teachers take classes in the government schools without fail and if there was any shortage of teachers in schools, they should be immediately appointed or they should be borrowed from the schools in the neighbouring mandals.

Details regarding the requirement of teachers should be prepared and submitted to the Government by October 31, she added.

The District Collector said that if there were any burglaries in the schools, the officials should file an FIR and submit the full details to her for taking further action.

She said that the syllabus for the academic year should be completed by November and charts should be prepared and set up in every classroom regarding the status of the syllabus.

Weekly tests should also be conducted so that the students could get a good practice in facing examinations, she added.

Rana said that the teachers should also take a feedback from the students about the government welfare schemes and educational programmes and submit the details to the Collectorate.

DEO Rajesh, Residential Gurukul school officer Sainath, several MEOS, managements of private schools and colleges, officers and others were present.
