Inaugurating 2K run from Circus ground to the Collectorate here on Monday, marking the birth anniversary of the first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed said Sardar strived hard for the unity and integrity of the nation.
​Karimnagar: Inaugurating 2K run from Circus ground to the Collectorate here on Monday, marking the birth anniversary of the first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed said Sardar strived hard for the unity and integrity of the nation.
On the occasion, Rashtriya Ekta Divas (National Unity Day) was observed. After making a pledge on National Unity along with the district administration in the Collectorate, Sarfaraz said ‘Even after getting independence to India in 1947, more than 500 princely states were existed in India.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is credited with persuading all those states to accede to the Indian Union, post independence. Because of that, he is called as Iron Man of India. He is the person, who was responsible for shaping out the India perfectly. Everyone must work for the unity and integrity of Nation by taking him as inspiration.’
Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar praised Patel as he was the one responsible for merging Hyderabad State in India. Even though there were number of religions and castes in India, it was the unity that has been keeping people together in the country. With his inspiration, Hindus, Muslims and Christians were living united in Karimnagar.
