2 houses gutted in cylinder blast

​Asifabad: Two houses were reduced to ashes following an accidental explosion of two LPG cylinders inside their premises at Itukyal village of this mandal in Komaram Bheem district on Tuesday.

The houses belonged to two brothers - Palkaji and Raoji. In the tragic incident, Palkaji incurred a loss of about Rs 6 lakh including 10 tolas gold, 15 tolas silver, 12 quintals of cotton, two quintals of pulses and cash worth Rs 50,000.

Raoji suffered a loss of Rs 3 lakh, which included three tolas gold, Rs 10,000 cash and house-hold items.

The father of the brothers, Mallaiah said that fire broke out due to short circuit which led to two gas cylinders blast. The Fire Services department personnel, assisted by local residents, put out the fire.
