Hyderabad Art Society is celebrating an eight-day platinum jubilee, in association with Department of Tourism and Culture, from Tuesday. The event was started with the Hawaiian Guitar performance by Jaywant Naidu. The festival was inaugurated by KV Ramana Chary, cultural advisor government of Telangana.

On the occasion Mamidi Harikrishna, director of language and culture, spoke about, how art was an imitation of nature and how artist always tries to express his experience of the surroundings through art.

Harinath Reddy, member from Exhibition Society assured that space would be given to Hyderabad Art society at the new complex coming up at Exhibition grounds.

At the same time Ramana Reddy, president of Hyderabad Art Society expressed hope that Platinum Celebrations would involve all senior and junior artists’ participation over the weekends.

Artist Rama Suresh from Chennai demonstrated her art work at the launch. Documentary film on artist Thota Vaikuntham was screened. Also a series of art events will be conducted till November 8.
