​Nalgonda: Under Janamaithri Policing Programme, the district police on Tuesday conducted a free health camp at Government High School ground, Marriguda village of Marriguda mandal to extend medical services to poor suffering from fluorosis and other health problems.

Around 4,500 people utilised the services of 35 doctors. Munugode MLA Prabhakar Reddy has formally inaugurated the mega health camp.

Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police N Prakash Reddy said community policing and social service programmes would be conducted in the district under Janamaithri programme.

He reminded that the district police have been organising road safety, accidents prevention programme, anti-ragging awareness programmes all across the district.

He assured that the district police in collaboration of NGOs would take up programmes to help people living in fluoride-affected villages.

District Collector Gaurav Uppal has appreciated police for taking up social service related programmes to help the poor in the district.

Earlier, the SP has also inaugurated Reverse Osmosis Water Plant setup by the district police at Namanayak Thanda hamlet of Pasnoor village of Devarakonda mandal.

With this, the number of RO water plants setup by the district police raised to seven in Devarakonda sub-division, which is fluoride-affected.
