Desi bass producer Su Real aka Suhrid Manchanda released his new album, ‘Twerkistan’ and will be in the city on November 12. 16 track album covers various dance music styles such as hip-hop, dub step trap, moombahton, rap with desi motifs and features collaborations with Reggae Rajahs, P-Man, Tanya Nambiar among others. Album launch tour also covers Pune, Chandigarh, Shillong, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

Su Real represents the new breed of Indian music producers who create and curate for the modern Indian dance floor, and has actively shaped the desi bass movement in India alongside producers like Nucleya.

The Delhi-based producer believes that desi bass isn’t just a genre of music but represents a window into the world of aspirations and tribulations of the Indian youth.

“We’re regularly asked to categorise ourselves as Bollywood or Hollywood, traditional or liberal, anti-nationalor patriotic, etc. I genuinely believe desi bass strikes a chord with Indian youth because the sound itself says: you can have everything.

You can respect the traditional while embracing the new, you can beIndian while being global at the same time, you can be anything youwant to be,” is Suhrid’s take on the desi bass movement.
