​Karimnagar: The high tension electricity wires, which are going over the top of the houses in Karimnagar city will be removed soon for public safety, said Finance Minister Eatala Rajender.

The Minister inaugurated the electricity sub-stations at S R R College, Satavahana University and in Arts College here in Karimnagar on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Finance Minister said, “The government is concerned more about the safety of the people.

The high tension electricity wires, which are passing on the top of the houses in Karimnagar city will be removed soon by spending Rs 38 crores.

Many people are dying due to the presence of hundreds of high tension wires atop their houses.”

In the united Andhra Pradesh, there were few sub-stations. But after the formation of Telangana State, many sub-stations were granted for supplying uninterrupted electricity.

New towers will be constructed in the city at a cost of Rs 28 crores along with planting of new poles, he said.

In the coming days, the people will be given electricity connection immediately after they ask for it, with help of newly constructed sub-stations, he concluded.

ZP Chairperson Tula Uma, MLC N Lakshman Rao, MLA G Kamalakar, Deputy Mayor G Ramesh, MPP N Ramesh and others were present.
