Participating in the Rythu Garjana meeting at Satya gardens in the town organised by the Congress Party, he said that when the Congress was in power, it had waived loans of the farmers amounting to Rs.72,000 crore across the country and Rs.13,000 crore in the State.

Shabbir Ali alleged that the Yellareddy MLA Enugu Ravinder Reddy was indulging in land grabbing and illegal mining activities and demanded stringent action against him. Never in his public life of 29 years, he saw MLAs openly indulging in such large-scale corruption, he lamented

Coming down heavily on K Chandrashekar Rao,the Congress leader alleged that the Chief Minister was confining himself mostly to his farm house, instead of consoling the families of those debt-ridden farmers who had committed suicide in desperation.

He urged the farmers to remain brave and not get disheartened. He ridiculed KCR’s claim of being selected for the best Chief Minister’s award, wondering how much bribe the organisation had received from him.

‘Is he being awarded for deception and looting public, Shabbir Ali questioned. Telangana should take awards for standing 29th in education and ninth in agriculture among the States in the Indian Union, he quipped.

Ali accused KCR of even cheating students during the last two years denying them fee reimbursement of Rs.3,200 crore and also jobs. He demanded immediate release of the amount.

He promised that if voted to power in 2019, the Congress would implement total waiver of farm loans. He said that the Congress would collect signatures from students and farmers for fee reimbursements and loan waiver and submit them to the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee and also to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for taking necessary action.
