Warangal Urban: BJP senior leader T Rajeshwar Rao demanded that the TRS government should come out with a statement on its contribution for the development of Warangal city during the past two and half years.

He alleged that the government has done nothing for the city development since it came to power and yet its leaders from minister level to corporators were making tall claims on making Warangal a ‘global city’ in the next five years.

This he said with reference to IT and Municipal Administration Minister K Taraka Rama Rao’s public address in Hanamkonda on Wednesday, where the Minister claimed of spending Rs 2,000 crores in next five years to develop Warangal on par with Hyderabad.

The BJP leader speaking to press persons here on Thursday described the Minister’s talk on Warangal development as a mere rhetoric, which was being repeated by the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao and others since the TRS government was formed.

Though the CM has announced Rs 300 crores budgetary allocation to Warangal, no detailed project report was prepared either on spending the money or the works to be taken up. Now the Minister speaking of spending Rs 2,000 crores was nothing but deceiving the people of Warangal, Rajeshwar Rao felt.

The CM was sitting on a file related to Warangal Master Plan since two and a half years. No action was taken regarding the Master Plan submitted to the government seeking its approval. But now the Minister KTR wants a new ‘comprehensive Master Plan’ prepared by March 2017.

‘How the government, that did nothing during two and half years, could achieve within six months, he questioned while adding that there were hundreds of files pending with the government on Warangal development.

The TRS has also failed to display its commitment for effective implementation of Amrut, Hriday and other central sponsored schemes sanctioned for Warangal city.

There was no response from the government on the BJP national president Amit Shah demand, who sought a ‘White Paper’ on spending of central funds by the State government, the BJP leader noted.

At least now the government should come out with clear cut plans for Warangal development instead of limiting itself for making statements, Rajeshwar Rao demanded.

The party leaders M Dharma Rao, V Ramulu, S Jaipal, Ch Sunil, Dr Vijayalakshmi and others present.
