​Karimnagar: Cordon and search operations will be conducted in every suspected area under the Commissionerate limits to crack down anti-social elements, said Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy here on Wednesday.

Led by the Commissioner, the police officials early on Wednesday conducted cordon-and-search operations in market yard area, NTR colony, Reddy, BC and SC colonies of Choppadandi constituency in Karimnagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Police Commissioner Kamalasan Reddy said, “To build up confidence in people regarding safety and security and to crack down anti-social elements, we are conducting the cordon and search operations in the suspected areas under Commissionerate limits.”

The development will take place in areas which are peaceful and with the development people get plenty of employment opportunities. The cordon and search operations wuld help to maintain peaceful environment.

People should understand this and must cooperate with the police, said the Commissioner. He urged the people to inform the police officials immediately if they find any persons in their surroundings behaving suspiciously and co-operate them in maintaining the law and order in the district to prevent any untoward incidents.

During the cordon and search operation, the Police Commissioner Kamalasan Reddy interacted with the people in BC Colony and asked them if they are feeling any inconvenience due to such operations.

Responding to the Commissioner, the people informed him that thefts could be prevented with such operations and extended their full cooperation for such operations.

The police officials seized 11 quintals of PDS rice, 25 litres of kerosene and 37 two-wheelers and one car, which do not have proper documents during their search, conducted from 5 am to 8 am on the day.

Choppadandi Circle Inspector Lakshman Babu and Reserve Inspector Gangadhar were present along with 200 members of police personnel in the search operation.
