A Subway restaurant in Trimulgherry recently hosted children from a local school for a fun interactive session which saw them learning about making healthy eating choices while also getting a chance to create their own signature subs (submarine sandwich).
The event saw the participation of 25 students from Jain Heritage a Cambridge School, accompanied by their teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Shah, Subway’s Development Agent, for Telangana, AP and Odisha said, “It was really nice to see that children appreciate and understand the importance of good food. It was a very productive and enjoyable interaction.”
The kids were welcomed by the local Subway team and following a discussion on what comprises healthy eating they were given a brief presentation showcasing Subway’s history, products overview and the brand’s commitment to provide fresh, nutritious and tasty meal choices.
Following this, the assembled children were given a tour of the restaurant where they witnessed Subway’s bread baking processes whereby each Subway restaurant bakes its own breads, fresh, daily.
They were explained the work that goes behind and the safety procedures involved, while preparing the vegetables, meats, condiments etc. for Subway’s delicious subs, salads and cookies.
A short quiz competition was also organised as a part of this programme, which elicited a keen response from the visiting students.
The winning team was invited to create their own subs using crisp, fresh veggies, meat, and sauces at hand.
Donning gloves, head-caps and aprons the youngsters transformed into Subway sandwich artists using their imagination to come up with their own appetizing and flavourful Subway sandwiches.
The visit came to a conclusion with the kids being treated with Subway’s cookie platters and customised giveaways.
Loved for its delectable subs, salads and cookies, Subway continues to be the preferred choice of guests looking for fresh, tasty and healthy meal options, globally.
