Sircilla: To estimate the damage occurred due to untimely rains in the month of September, the members of Central Team visited Rajanna Sircilla district on Monday.

The members inspected the Mid-Manair and enquired the details of the damage occurred to the fields in Padira village of Yellareddypet mandal.

They also observed the roads that were damaged due to the recent floods in Mustabad mandal along with the roads damaged due to untimely rains in Bandnakal village.

The members enquired the farmers about the loss they incurred in their fields due to breakage of Mid-Manair ayucut.

The farmers informed the members of the Central Team that nearly 1,000 acres of irrigated land was affected due to breakage of Mid-Manair ayucut. They also informed that they cannot go for next crop due to sand deposits in their fields.

Even the furniture in houses, wells in fields were also damaged as water flowed along with the pipelines that swept away in the flow of water due to breakage of Mid-Manair ayucut.

The farmers said they incurred a huge loss of about Rs 30,000 per acre but they haven’t received any help from the government till date.

The farmers demanded the Central Team members to declare the villages located under the ayucut of Mid-Manair as drought-affected and provide immediate help.

The Central Team members assured the farmers that they would submit the detailed report to the Central government and will look into the matter.

The Central Team includes Additional Commissioner of Central Village Development Department Jagadish Kumar, Superintending Engineer of Godavari Basin Water resources O R K Reddy, R&B Engineering Chief Ravinder Rao and Irrigation department Superintending Engineer Anil Kumar.

District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar and Revenue Divisional Officer Shyam Prasad Lal accompanied the Central Team along with other officials and ZPTCs and MPPs.
