The Central study team members, Krishna Prasad and Kolhakar, on the second day of their tour in the district to assess the recent crop damage caused by rains held a review meeting in the Collectorate with officials here on Monday. 

​Nizamabad: The Central study team members, Krishna Prasad and Kolhakar, on the second day of their tour in the district to assess the recent crop damage caused by rains held a review meeting in the Collectorate with officials here on Monday.

A lot of crops like tobacco, black gram, turmeric, paddy and soya bean were extensive damaged in more than 1.5 lakh hectares of land.

Even the highways of Road & Buildings and Panchayatraj departments were damaged in the torrential rains. The team members toured several villages of Nizamabad and Kamareddy.

The members witnessed a power-point presentation and received a report on the damage caused to the roads. In-charge Collector Ravinder Reddy attended along with MLA Bajireddy Govardhan, MLC Bhupati Reddy, and leaders of various parties.

The leaders submitted representations to the team, with pleas that farmers of the district should be rescued. The Central team members assured the leaders that they would submit a report to the government.
