As part of the campaign, cancer survivors would need to take a self-video of up to 60 seconds, capturing the story of their struggle and conquest over cancer.

As part of creating awareness about positivity in dealing with cancer, a contest is organised for survivors titled ‘Self V Survivor Stories’.

As part of the campaign, cancer survivors would need to take a self-video of up to 60 seconds, capturing the story of their struggle and conquest over cancer.

By uploading it on Facebook.com/selfv or on www.selfv.in, these stories can become an ideal encouragement of hope for many patients fighting the disease and break the stigma attached to it.

The contest will run till the end of November and the best Self V videos will not only make it to the grand finale in December but also win awards ranging from Ducati Scrambler Bike, international and national holidays from Aster and other exciting merchandise.

Speaking about the campaign, Amar Bhaskar a cancer survivor said, “It’s a day of hope and triumph for all survivors. Fighting cancer is a battle and one needs to be positive.

I thrived after my problems and today I’m a winner, celebrating Cancer Survivor’s Day. Awareness is the key, if more survivors speak about the disease, it instills confidence in thousands of patients that there is a life after cancer and it can be managed.”

Dr BS Ajaikumar Chairman & CEO of HCG said, “Cancer is a complex disease and it needs a multi-disciplinary approach to treat it.

When outcomes through a focused treatment modality is achieved there would be more survivors and I am happy to note today that survivors are coming and talking about their journey.

“Self V Survivor Stories is a great initiative to provide a ray of hope to people out there who are being diagnosed and battling cancer,” he said.

Dinesh Madhavan Director of Healthcare Services said, “It is important to celebrate this day because we need to spread awareness about the disease and that it is curable.

Thus this is a perfect opportunity for all survivors not only to celebrate with their loved ones but also to share their stories of hope to others and giving them strength.”
