The Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) celebrated their 12th Formation Day with the theme ‘Promotion Entrepreneurship for Development’.

As part of this an awareness programme was conducted on national and international schemes of MSMEs in Red Hills.

Delivering the Guest lecture, M Golapakrishna said, “Entrepreneurs need vision, followed by mission, which should be translated into action.

For this they need passion. It’s what Americans call PAL- Partnerships, Alliances and Linkages; this is important for entrepreneurs.”

“COWE has done a great job for 12 years by including women in economic development of society. The mind is library of the universe adding value is very important in business.

You have to maintain good relationship with business, with the people around you and with neighbours. You should help the government take decisions because many times they don’t know what they are doing.

The last word I want to add is the power of three words ‘I can do’ which you should always keep in mind,” he said.

K Srinivasa Rao, Zonal Head of NSIC informed that NSIC has FFC-Financial Facilitation Scheme where they act as single point access to banks. Rao suggested a course where younger women should be given training in life skills for two months like cooking, rangoli, maintaining relationships with in-law’s, self defence and basic laws.

Commenting on the an awareness programme on NSIC National and International Schemes for MSME, Geeta Goti, National President of COWE India, said, “We are aiming to start a kitchen incubator if government supports us. We are also implementing ‘Entrepreneurial Development Programmes’ in rural areas.”

“COWE is rated as ‘Gold’ BMO (Business Member Organisation) by NABET (National Accreditation Board for Education & Training).

This proves that it follows good governance. It is one of the leading Women Business Associations which is assisting women in all aspects to choose business as their main activity for all age groups,” reminded Geeta.

“Our mission is to promote affiliations and spread COWE activities across India. Also to create centres of excellence for women to gain knowledge, develop skills, provide infrastructure, access to resources and promote marketing avenues to further their business,” she stated.
