A two-day national seminar on ‘Advances in bioprocess engineering: practical approach for today’s challenges’ began at Kasturba Gandhi Degree and PG College in Secunderabad on Thursday.

The seminar is organised in collaboration with BioZEEN-Bengaluru Biotech Labs Pvt Ltd and sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology along with TS Council for Science and Technology and TS Council for Higher Education.

In the inaugural session, Prof S Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University inaugurated the seminar. He was assisted by Dr Anita Reddy, Principal of the College; Dr Aditya Margam, Secretary, Exhibition Society; Conveners of the seminar, Dr Annapurna Bhavani and Shakuntala.

Prof Ramachandram emphasised the importance of research and skill development based education to enhance employability. After his address he released the seminar proceedings.

Dr K Jaganathan, Shanta Biotech and Dr Varalakshmi, Director, Jain University, S Uday Bhaskar, Consultant, Biologics and more than 200 delegates including scientists, research scholars, faculty and students attended the seminar.
